Chief Partnership Officer

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville, a cutting-edge non-profit housing organization specializing in mixed-income neighborhoods and trailer park transformation without resident displacement is seeking a FT Chief Partnership Officer (CPO). 

The CPO is a member of the Habitat senior leadership team and head of Habitat’s core community and family services. The CPO will work with staff and board members, volunteers and, most importantly, residents of the communities we serve and aspiring low-income homeowners, to implement a long-term, comprehensive community engagement and educational strategy. 

The CPO’s reach is also external. He or she must responsibly, passionately and strategically represent Habitat in the community as it seeks partnerships and coalitions to end local housing poverty. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, yet compassionate and humble professional, with a record of achievement in program development, training/education and grass-roots community organizing. The CPO must possess an inspiring personality, able to help ignite a sense of hope in people while being able to operate successfully at the strategic level.  Applicants should have experience in Asset Based Community Development, have a basic understanding of mortgage lending and finance and have proven ability in a social services setting, preferably related to housing. Conversant Spanish is a plus.

Land Development Coordinator

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville, a cutting-edge non-profit housing organization specializing in mixed-income neighborhoods and trailer park transformation without resident displacement is seeking a FT Land Development Coordinator (LDC). 

The LDC coordinates all elements of Habitat’s property pursuit, site design, entitlement and land development activities.  He/she works closely with the President/CEO to ensure sufficient, entitled land/property resources in order to meet Habitat’s ambitious building and development and make certain that our communities are of the highest quality.  Sustainable site design, outstanding place making and healthy, safe environments for families are our hallmarks. Habitat is redefining the limits of redevelopment by strengthening existing communities and creating diverse, vibrant neighborhoods with a sustainable mixed-income model.  During the past 25 years we have built more than 200 homes in partnership with hard-working local families, saved more than 1,500 people from displacement, created six mixed-income communities and were the first in the nation to transform a trailer park into a mixed income, mixed-use community inclusive of long-time residents.
