You can learn more about Habitat's interim work during Covid-19 here and visit the Store's website to find their adjusted hours and procedures here.

Sweat equity is a core component of the Habitat program. Partner families can earn sweat equity by volunteering at Habitat build sites, volunteering at the Habitat Store, and volunteering at the Habitat office. We also offer several online sweat equity opportunities.

For an updated list of current online and in-person sweat equity opportunities, see HERE

To volunteer in-person, please register in advance HERE

You may also contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Amy Allamong, at volunteer@cvillehabitat.org or at 434-218-9900 to sign up for in-person hours.

  • Virginia Individual Development Accounts (VIDA) -  The VIDA program helps households save for a down payment on a home. Eligible families receive training, support, and match funding on their savings. The current match rate is $8 for every $1 the participant saves, up to $4,000 in match.

See HERE for more information about the VIDA program.

Email Charlottesville's VIDA contact, Piedmont Housing Alliance (PHA), to determine if you are eligible.
